Most guitars are factory made and roll off the assembly line in acceptable playing shape. Still, after the trauma of shipping and the unavoidable shrinking and swelling associated with climate changes, it's highly unusual that a guitar plays anywhere near it's potential directly off the music store wall. Not surprisingly, used guitars present there own setup challenges.
